Learning Helps

I've worked with many people, both young and old, on developing skills.  Skills for life, skills for work, skills for acquiring skills.  I absolutely loved every minute making these a reality for people as a professional trainer, case manager, program manager, and tutor.

The best part was seeing the glow, the twinkle in the eye, when the individual in front of me understands why it is a significant skill for them.  Sure, I took enjoyment in the defined accomplishment of said skill, but the truest form of pleasure was when they made the skill acquisition their own cause.  It became meaningful to them in a way that I could not make it.

But that's learning.  And sometimes someone needs a little help seeing the bigger picture, their picture of what they want to see and do by themselves without someone telling them it must or can be done.  Like the toddler learning about the world around them, their first desire is, "I do it myself."  Yes, you will do it yourself and I will help when you ask and otherwise keep you safe while you try.

On this blog, I have many posts written to help boost learning.  Look for the "learning helps" label to pull them all up.  Please don't hesitate to email me with specific questions!
